Sansevieria is the artisanal and sustainable alternative to synthetic products!

Sansevieria, cultivated in southeastern Mexico for over a century, is a sustainable alternative to synthetic fibers. This plant, from planting to stripping, is worked by artisans who preserve this sustainable tradition through traditional techniques.

Artisanal process

The artisans of the Sansevieria Cork Workshop sow the land in quadrants so that it regenerates naturally and use natural dyes such as blackberry, dye wood, riñonina or añil.

There are two presentations of sansevieria: combed and corked. The combed fiber is passed through a metal nail comb to smooth it or leave it slightly wavy, while the corked consists of twisting the fiber to form rolled cords.

Sansevieria Corchada
The twisted sansevieria is produced by twisting two combed fibers to form rolled cords. This versatile, naturally dyed fiber is perfect for lamps, earrings, necklaces, hammocks, and decoration, combining sustainability and artisan tradition.
Sansevieria Peinada
The combed sansevieria, the result of ancestral techniques, is obtained by passing the fiber through a metal nail comb to smooth it or leave it wavy. Available in a variety of natural colors, it is ideal for creating lamps, earrings, necklaces, hammocks, and decorative objects.
